Dream Salon with Diane Greig

May 12, 2021, 7:30 p.m.

Bring a dream, dream image or a symbol that reflects your connection to nature, for instance, a feather, waterfall photo or stone.  We will begin with an exercise to bring us into circle. Then I’ll review the dream sharing process using a modified Montague Ullman approach. You will learn to dream share either by presenting your dream/image/symbol or by responding to another person’s dream/image/symbol. Although we may only have time for 2 dreams, we will-free associate with as many dream images/symbols as possible before leaving the circle.

Space is limited to 20; a waiting list is available. Session will be 1.5 hours. Due to the establishment of the alchemical dream sharing flask, no latecomers will be invited in once the session begins.

Crisis as Alchemical Vessel with Joel Kroeker

April 30, 2021, 7:30 p.m.

In many ways, we are currently living in difficult times. Many of us are struggling to make sense of these confusing and disorienting experiences. These tremendous conflicts (both inner and outer, individual and collective) can be seen as the focus of Jung's final work entitled, "Mysterium Coniunctionis" (CW 14), which Edinger called "an anatomy book for the psyche." Here Jung draws on the richly symbolic world of Alchemy as the "great collective dream of our ancestors" to offer a path through the clashing opposites of longing, fear, desire, loss, isolation and forced adaptation.

Please join us for this timely exploration, as we dare to ask, how can even these difficult times contribute to the necessary confrontation with the greater personality and its drive toward actualized wholeness.

Soil and Soul: Reanimating a Desecrated World

March 19, 2021, 7:30 p.m.

From strip malls to depleted soils, the consequences of deanimating the world are all around us. For most of human history, our species lived in an animate world, a world in which mountains, trees and rivers were imbued with sentience and inherent value.

Over the past five millennia, humanity has undergone an profound and accelerating shift in consciousness. Our capacity for abstract, rational thinking has developed to an astonishing degree, yet the cost of this psychological evolution is becoming glaringly apparent: acquiring such an anthropocentric objective consciousness required turning the world itself into a collection of objects, draining the land and its other-than-human inhabitants of what we might call “soul”.

This talk, with Charles Morse, is about re-animating our world, drawing inspiration from agrarians, poets, architects and activists to consciously and creatively participate in breathing soul back into the world and into our lives.
