American & Canadian Cultural Complexes Compared
Explore Cultural Complexes of the United States & Canada that Affect our Personal Psychology Today with Jungian Psychoanalyst, Dr Phyllis Jensen
Time & Location
May 24, 2025, 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. PDT
Vancouver, 1825 W 16th Ave, Vancouver, BC V6J 2M3, Canada
About the Event
Countries and Individuals have identities, personalities, and psychological complexes (uncounscious thoughts and feelings traceable to early conditioning and trauma). When complexes are triggered they create powerful reactions that may not be reasonable, responsible or ethical.
This in-person LECTURE and Jungian Library BIG BOOK SALE will be held in The Great Hall at the Canadian Memorial Centre for Peace.
Saturday evening’s discussion is about country-level complexes of the United States & Canada manifesting today and how their differences are playing out in the collective unconscious – that part of the mind working below the surface, populated by archetypes (universal, primordial images and patterns of thought common to all) – triggering strong psychological and emotional reactions in individuals, leaders and countries.
Registrants will receive a copy of Phyllis's academic paper exploring these complexes, published in the
Jung Journal on Culture & Psyche 2018: 12 (2) pp91-108
